Hello Chelsea fans...welcome to the first mud-throwing contest of this summer transfer window (which actually is connected with the Blues).
Thanks Luka Modric for making this football-free time a bit more exciting to me:)
Honestly, what does Luka Modric think he's doing to the Tottenham fans with these kinds of statements? This is ridiculous, disrespectful and just improper behavior. Is there any need to make this statements in public apart from forcing a transfer move?
I don't think so and I cannot approve this behavior.
Nevertheless Modric could be on his way to Stamford Bridge now, what seems to be the sportive sentence of death for the Spurs, because they actually want to achieve the Champions League and in my personal oppinion they're definitely comparable with Arsenal, but Modric is the hub of the team and his loss could mean a big loss of quality in the end...
I don't know. If the price is basically acceptable, Spurs would do well to sell him, but there'd go as well quality as a chance ...
I'm sick of the drama involved with this Modric transfer, I agree he's behaved in a really poor fashion, we don't need that kind of petulance, but we do need a creative play make in the centre of the park. As to him being the right player for us, I'm not sure, particularly as it now appears that Porto have realised that they do actually want Abramovich's money, thus improving our chances of landing the likes Moutinho, who Villa Boas knows well already (with Essien's injury we also loose a substantial physical presence in the midfield he's not called 'the Bison' for nothing, Modric does not fill that gap). For Tottenham it would not necessarily be a body blow, they're apparently already in talks with various clubs about how to spend their Modric money (apparently Yann M'vila, Aaron Ramsey and Roberto Soldado are top of the list).
Zitat von Manutd78:
On to your Alex rumour. Bayern already established to Boateng, Alex should actually not be an issue. As to Eto'o, I think his salary is too high...
From what i'm hearing there are serious discussions going on with Rolando, and considering Terry's the captain, Luiz is the new wonder boy and Ivanovic not long ago signed a new contract, Alex will likely be sacrificed for Rolando (which is a shame, he's a really excellent utility player to have on the bench), the only real clubs its speculated Alex could move to are Bayern and Malaga, though I've heard far stronger links to the former (though you're correct that they'd prefer Boateng, Man City is definitely making that transfer difficult for them). As to Eto'o, it seems quite likely now he's either going to stay at Inter, move to Man City or possibly back to Spain (again with Malaga), Chelsea are probably not in it, with his salary (and no guarantee of 1st team football) being the issues, but I wouldn't write him off 100% just yet.
To today's speculation, the usual suspects Pastore, Moutinho, Pepe, Courtois, Aguero and Modric all appear. Sneijder has rejected Malaga, reducing his options to three destinations, favourites Man U, then Man City with Chelsea still possible, but rank outsiders. Villa Boas is again pushing for a return of Scott Parker to Stamford Bridge (soon to be followed by Carlton Cole, Joe Cole and Eidur Gudjohnsen :0).
Man City is close to signing 5 youngsters who are also being monitored by Chelsea, Anderlecht starlets Charly, Tika and Lamisha Musonda and Feyernord starlets Karim and Omar Rekik. Tottenham have also apparently joined the race with Chelsea and Real Madrid to sign Souleymane Coulibaly, (and they're also after Columbian U17 sensation Ricky Murza, who is also being monitored by Chelsea).
There is also speculation around we are after Stewart Downing (as a right winger, but he's not good enough), Arturo Vidal (as Essien cover, although he seems Bayern bound according to everything I've heard) and Ricardo Montolivo (a good player but I don't see him at Chelsea).
Abramovich is pushing for Chelsea to sign Argentine stars Carlos Tevez and Angel di Maria, former unhappy with life at Man City and the later unhappy with money at Real Madrid, though I think both of these are unlikely, you never know when Abramovich is involved (he got his man in Torres and there's speculation he may yet get his man in Kaka). Speaking of Real Madrid stars Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema will both be available if Real succeeds in landing Sergio Aguero according to the latest reports.
At the U17 World Cup, Giovani Casillas and Antonio Briseno scored as Mexico beat Uruguay in the final, we should look at Casillas he seems spookily good, while Germany beat Brazil 4-3 in the 3rd place play off, though Adryan with a double played well (as did Germany's Okan Aydin).
At Copa America, Falcao impressed against Bolivia, scoring both of Columbia's goals.

Just a result of Rummenigge's stupid claims about Man City’s financial and squad situation. Manchester City is flexing muscles, what I actually like, because this arrogant Bayern management is taking a big risk by showing behavior like that.
But at least the transfer is set to be done. It's about 14 million Euros transfer fee and 5 million Euros bonus payments in the end, but actually Manchester City is giving Bayern the cold shoulder.
That sounds good, but the speculation about Alex joining Bayern is ongoing, so I'm unsure if its being fueled by Alex's agent (who may be nervous about his players position in the squad, given Villa Boas' preference for bringing in Rolando), or if its just baseless speculation.
Zitat von Manutd78:
Inter made a big mistake. They actually can't play by the rules of the FFP with the high salary for players like Eto'o, Sneijder and so on...That's the reason, why some players will have to leave Inter and join clubs, which have the opportunity to pay their salary AND play by the rules.
If Sneijders joining United, there will be probably a chance to stay at Inter for Eto'o (though (I think it was you) you said Eto'o could be unhappy at Milan), but I think this chance is not that great.
Sorry, but Sneijder is set to join United. He's in negotiations with Manchester United and these negotiations progressed well the last couple of days, from what I've heard.
It's very likely that he's joining United.
From what I understand it's not so much Eto'o is unhappy in Milan as his family is, and from what I understand while he was considered by Chelsea, he's now out of serious consideration, however should the muted move to Man City fail (and should Inter need to sell) there is a small chance he could be reconsidered. As to Sneijder, it does look like we've missed out (big shame, he would have been great for us).
Zitat von Manutd78:
Benzema is on Arsene Wenger's list. We've just to wait until the first striker joins another club and things will develop rapidly I think.
Well Wenger may soon have the money to sign Benzema :).

Well, while Parker could indeed be an alternative for the cm position,...the rest of it sounds like a big joke to me.
Well it was a joke (the latter part at least, sorry I failed to correctly add the emoticon, it should have had :o or :D ) though I would also argue that re signing Scott Parker when there are better options out there is also a bit of a joke.
As to today's transfer speculation, the usual suspects again appear, de Bruyne, Courtois, Lukaku, Mata, Rolando, Moutinho, Hulk, Aguero and Falcao. Hearing a lot about this young Serb, Nenad Lukic, he's apparently a target of some significant interest, (as is Souleymane Coulibaly who I am also hearing a lot of chatter about at the moment).
In replacing Essien news, Daniele de Rossi has emerged as an option (I hope not), as has Liverpool's new star reject Raul Meireles (who Villa Boas knows well), and while there has been more talk of Blaise Matuidi (but frustratingly its gone a bit quiet on Moussa Sissoko). Abramovich is apparently still keen on us signing Pavel Mamaev.

Thanks for updates. We've won a pre season practice match against Wycombe 3-0 Torres Benayoun Rajkovic scored.
BTW if Roman really wants to sign Mamaev then he can veto others & sign him. What do you think?

Yeah a decent result, simply for helping build up Torres confidence, I think Rajkovic showed enough that we'll want to hold onto him.

CSKA (and to a lesser extent Abramovich himself) are the issues, remember its the middle of the Russian season (though the Russian competition is currently undergoing an alteration to bring it into line with most of the rest of Europe), Mamaev is an important player for them, it's the same reason why the clubs who are after Keisuke Honda (which unfortunately does not seem to include Chelsea) are finding dealing with CSKA so difficult.
There has been some serious doom and gloom coming out of many fellow Chelsea fans after Barca sealed Sanchez, Man U have all but sealed Sneijder, Pastore said he doesn't want to leave Italy and Man City considered tabling a new bid for Modric (first of all, we're only at the beginning of teh transfer window guys, relax, secondly the only one of these deals which has actually gone through, from what I understand is Sanchez to Barca, and finally I think Man City would do us a favour making us search for alternatives to Modric).
Firstly onto speculation about an Essien replacement, Newcastle's Ivorian powerhouse Cheik Tiote has emerged as the favourite (he's good but I'd prefer we looked at Moussa Sissoko as the favourite), but Sissoko, Odjidja-Ofoe, Blaise Matuidi and Kwadwo Asamoah are still in teh race (with Pavel Mamaev an outside chance at this point). We've also apparently tabled an 18 million Euro bid for Daniele de Rossi (I hope not, he's old, slow and doesn't fit in Villa Boas system in my opinion, I'd prefer Villa Boas brought in Joao Moutinho, Ruben Micael or Fernando from Porto instead).
More regular speculation about Courtois, Coulibaly, Modric, Lukaku, Falcao and Nasri. Real Madrid are now apparently linked with Alex (if it's a swap for Pepe, say NO Villa Boas if its part of swap for Di Maria say yes).
Finally Liverpool and Tottenham are after AIK's young strikers from Sierra Leone, Teteh and Mohamed Bangura, both former Chelsea targets.

De Rossi is a bummer case, He will cost lesser than our other supposed targets but his salary demand would be pretty big, always thought it'll need a big salary to take him out of Rome & it's the case.
As a player, no doubt he's perfect to replace Essien, great presence in midfield, a ball snatcher, & like Essien his movement is pretty good, can tackle & due to playing in relatively high level for long time, endurance is very good. But his salary asking should be the barrier to any concrete offer.
On other note, some rumor say we've inquired about Parker as a loan arrangement. Not sure about it too, a return is good but in playing terms , Parker is one not for a defensive role. He trots all over the pitch prior to tackle anything in sight & not made for only defensive game, something was the reason prior to his departure during Jose days. Agree with chelseafan87 that someone like Sissoko is & should be the ideal choice.

Zitat von Manutd78:
So, let's talk about Chelsea's dependency on a new central midfielder.
After Newcastle claimed that they have received no offers for Tiote, Scott Parker became a quite likely replacement for injured Michael Essien.
The guardian reports on following possible deal:
Parker will be loan to Chelsea for one season, which would cost about 4 million pounds. This would be a win-win solution in my opinion.
Parker'd still be on the Three Lions radar (and he needs EPL games to stay on it), he could return to West Ham, when they are promoted and Chelsea would have a cheap high-quality replacement until Essien recovers from his injury.
This would definitely make sense.
It makes sense...if we want Parker. Personally I'm not a fan, and while this would work for playing the role of an injury replacement for Essien, I'm starting to think that we need a more permanent solution for the often injured Essien (by this I don't mean we'd sell Essien, but rather we'd find a player who is an effective 'next Essien' who would either join the squad (which is small enough to accomodate another world class midfielder [even two] provided we rotate them a bit through the first XI) or could replace Mikel or Benayoun. My ideal choice would be Sissoko but as I've mentioned he's far from the only option.
Zitat von Manutd78:
But I think Chelsea would need another central midfielder. Ramires, who has stamina and condition would fit into Villas Boas system, but Lampard (well, I repeat myself) is at the peak of his career, he's a passing midfielder with a good overview over the pitch and does not really fit into this system, and finally Mikel...yea. Sorry, but he's a bit above the average, that's all...So, who is the fourth or fifth high quality central midfielder? I don't see two of them, fitting into Villas Boas system...
In my opinion Moutinho would be perfect. He'd just be perfect, because he's a tough guy, who is able to play the physical play, which is needed in EPL's midfields to compete with the top teams, he's got stamina, condition and in Germany we're used to say "a lung of a horse" :p,
he's a very good passing midfielder and that's why in my opinion he's the best permanent solution for Chelsea, while Parker's loan would be a great additional solution for one season.
100% agree (unless we could land Steven Defour, I just can't understand why he's gone off the radar), but Moutinho's worked well with Villa Boas and I've been a long time fan of his, so I'd be all for him, signing (particularly ahead of Modric!).
As for the 3rd strip...we Chelsea fans having an unfortunate relationship with our 3rd strip...it's cursed! :o
Finally, we may be back in for Aguero after Mourinho stated he'd like to sign Adebayor again and Real move to sign Tevez.

In fact if you look solely from animal point of view Horses actually need a lot of rest, it's donkeys that don't need a rest :D
Wonder it has never been branded in that way :p

Can you give something on how closely we're following the Brazilian market? I've read that we've followed it for good young full back, esp after Manutd signed the duo. Also we have stakes in both Fluminense young full backs, Wallace & Ronan, and some attacking players are also on sight too.

Zitat von Manutd78:
Falcao just extended his contract until 2015.
Looks like the Falcao speculation is finished, damn shame too, we could have really used him, the only possible consolation is that Porto may now be more willing to deal when it comes certain other targets (as I understand Falcao's new contract includes some significant incentives), Fernando, Joao Moutinho, Fredy Guarin, Silvestre Varela have all attracted some interest and Porto may be interested in doing a deal (particularly on Moutinho from our perspective). Loosing out on Hulk and Falcao will hopefully not be a serious issue for us in the future (though it does add to a string of failures this early in the transfer window, Hulk, Falcao, Sneijder, Thiago now Scott Parker too, who looks like he's off to Aston Villa for 8 million).
On a positive note we do now look close to a deal with Racing Genk for Courtois, not ideally the first signing I'd have made, but I'm glad we now have a decent back up for Cech (having said that it's still not 100% through).
Onto today's speculation, more talk of young stars Ante Vukusic of Hadjuk Split and Hicham Khaloua of FC Cartagena, (but we've missed out on Racing Santander prospect Miguel Angel Saiz Maza). Silly talk about Mikel and Sturridge being used as part of a Modric offer (we need Mikel now Essien's injured and Sturridge is part of the club's future, not going to happen).
In excellent news Aguero wants out of Athletico Madrid and it looks increasingly likely that neither Real Madrid or Man U will bid, leaving to Chelsea or Man City. Man U are now also apparently after AIK's Bangura brothers, who both formerly (and may still currently be being monitored by Chelsea). Though Newcastle continue to deny there's been any approach Chiek Tiote's name continues to be offered as a potential Essien replacement (though Villa Boas seems very keen on bringing Fernando and/or Moutinho from Porto, while others in management are understood to be watching Sissoko, Matuidi and Asamoah very carefully).
I will not continue to cover the Modric stuff until it's resolved one way or the other (I think he'll end up at Chelsea, but at the moment I hope he doesn't).
As to Blue_RebelZ interest in our interest in the Brazilian market, the answer is we're following it far more closely than ever before, Wallace, Ronan and Rafael Pernão are all percentage owned by Chelsea after Deco's transfer to Fluminense. We signed Lucas Piazon and he will join the club in January. Paulo Henrique Ganso from Santos, Gabriel Silva from Palmeiras, U17 World Cup stars Adryan and Ademilson, Lucas of Sao Paulo (who we are apparently really desperate to sign) Wallyson of Cruzeiro, and Vasco da Gama's Guilherme Costa. There are probably a lot more being monitored but these are the ones we have expressed at least some form of interest in over the last few months or so (the one's I'd really like are Lucas, Ganso and Adryan).
Thanks chelseafan87, I have heard about our interest in Lucas Moura with french RMC radio mentioning a supposed 40mn bid turned down, partly because they do not want to do business & the fact Lucas has a longer contract with hefty buy out & above all the player does not want to leave right now.
I've read about Guilherme, a very talented young player he seems, but for some reason I think he will be 2nd choice from brazil inputs. Even if you consider our interest on Brazilians, the first grade/choices will always be players playing in Europe(that are supposed to be immediate first team reinforcements) for some time like Willian Alex texeira etc. The second choices will be those directly from Brazil, through special talent WP.
Read on Sky that Hicham Khalua has joined city & now with their squad. So that means Chelsea Manutd will have little chance to convince him.
As for Gael Etock, do you have any confirmation that he has joined us?
