Milan want to sign Álex Jiménez (18 years old), one of the most promising players of the Real Madrid youth academy. The Italians are going to make a strong bid for the young right-back, who they have been following for some time. The formula will be a loan deal that will include a non-compulsory option to buy at the end of next season. At the moment, the clubs are working out the details of possible future options that the club may have on a player they do not want to lose track of. If nothing goes wrong, everything should be sealed in the next few days.

Why has this situation come about? It has not been easy, but all parties have agreed that the best thing to do is to leave after a last season that, for various reasons, has been complicated for the player. He was expected to alternate between the Juvenil and Castilla (he was a second-year youth player), although with the hope of settling in the reserve team, where he has only played seven games (in which he has shared two assists, one every 168 minutes, showing his potential).

Renewed in May 2022 until 2025 (with clauses that could automatically extend his contract until 2027 depending on objectives), the club were confident that this past season would have been the one of his definitive explosion, with the option of even breaking into the first team.

In fact, in training under Ancelotti's orders, the first team players were amazed to the point of commenting that "he is an aeroplane".

However, despite his potential, there are other negative factors. On the one hand, some injuries that have sidelined him at key moments of the season, such as the promotion playoff, where he was absent due to an ankle injury. On the other, his lack of feeling with Raúl and Arbeloa, his two coaches this season, who have sometimes left him on the bench more for attitude problems than for his sporting level.

With all these ingredients on the table, both the coaches and the player are opting for a way out, even more so after Madrid extended the loan of Vinicius Tobias in Castilla, who occupies the same position. The decision to look for a destination has been made for months now, with the team still to be decided. At Valdebebas, they have raised the possibility of a loan move to Primera or Segunda RFEF, although the player's entourage prefer to look at alternatives abroad. After a complicated year, the best way to reset and start from scratch is to move away from his comfort zone, to look for a totally different challenge.

This is where the option of Milan, who have been chasing his trail for years, comes in. Antonio D'Ottavio, the new sporting director of the Rossoneri, is fundamental to the success of this operation. He is the one who trusts the young player the most, who would join Milan's Primavera team (the reserve team) with the idea of training regularly with the first team.
