Market Value Analysis: efbet Liga (Bulgarian First League)

07.12.2025 - 00:54 Uhr
Hello everyone,

Since I could not find an actual thread in relation to the Bulgarian First League, I've decided to create one.

The goal is to be very realistic and set the tone for good discussions, as in general the football in the country is not in it's brightest situation, but yet there are sometimes players that are raising interest across other leagues.

As it is December and I assume there will be soon a new market value update, please find my analysis:

Ludogorets Razgrad:

Hendrik Bonmann | GK | 31 | 750k - keep at 750k, he has been constantly rotated with Sergio Padt and had decent minutes, but the team had it's worse run for the past ten years.
Sergio Padt | GK | 35 | 400k - either decline to 350k due to age or keep at 400k. He has been constantly rotated with Hendrik Bonmann and had decent minutes, but the team had it's worse run for the past ten years.
Damyan Hristov | GK | 23 | 300k - keep at 300k. He is constantly playing for the second team, which is part of the "Second League" of Bulgaria, where the team performs quite average and does not have any big success.
Olivier Verdon | CB | 30 | 2.5m - keep at 2.5m. He is very solid in terms of number of appearances, but has played full minutes within a couple of games, where the team has considered three and five goal within the league, which is one of the worst defending performance for the club for the past ten years. Still, good games were played within the Europa League tournament.
Ivaylo Chochev | CM | 32 | 2.0m - keep at 2.0m. No matter the age of 32, Chochev is still one of the best, if not the best midfielder within the league. He has already scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists during the season and has been the main character for the team this season.
Petar Stanic | AM | 24 | 2.50m - Increase to 2.70m. Still adapting to the team but generates momentum. He is very effective within the Europa League games and scored a hat-trick recently there. Definitely, seeing him as crucial part of the team during the second half of the season and for the next season.
Bernard Tekpetey | RW | 28 | 4.50m - Reduce to 4.00m. He is losing momentum and since his bad injury last year, he does not seem like the player he used to be. He is no longer having such an effect on the field for the team. For such a price in the Bulgarian First League, you need to be a huge class player and show this constantly, which does not work out for Tekpetey at the moment.

More teams and players to follow.
Levski Sofia

Marin Petkov | AM | 22 | 3.5m - keep at 3.5m

Marin's price is reaching an all-time high, which for the current impact and form - no team would pay, as he is already overpriced. He i s a good prospect in great age, but he lacks to have an impact in the most important games.

Christian Makoun | CB | 25 | 2.5m - increase to 2.8m

Makoun has been one of the main reasons for the good form of the team, as he has been the main man in the defense in the first half of the season. He is one of the most stable defenders in the Bulgarian First League so far.

Tsunami | LB | 29 | - 2.0m - decrease to 1.8m

Tsunami has reached a stage where he is weirdly still the captain of the team, but he has not been involved in the majority of the games of the team. His impact on the good strike is not very crucial, as the coach uses him in the middle of the defense which is not his original position. In the rare cases where the team conceded goals, Tsunami was part of the starting eleven. Comparing his age and performance he rather seems to be entering into a decline in his career, than a plateau.

Mazire Soula | AM | 27 - 1.5m - increase to 1.8m

Soula has been one of the key players for the team. Even if he was not directly involved in some of the goals (by either scoring or assisting), his presence on the pitch had a good outcome for the team.

Aldair | RB | 26 - 1.5m - decrease to 1.3m

Started the season with a promise, but due to various injuries and other reasons he did not play and was not even used as a sub. His impact has been minimal within the good league performance. He seems to have again an injury issue. Compared to the previous season, where he was a key player - this so far looks like a disappointment for the player.

Everton Bala LW | 26 - 1.5m - increase to 1.7m

Everton Bala has been one of the key wingers for the team. He continues his good form from the previous season and would be definitely someone that might attract the eyes of foreign clubs. The club can easily sell him for around 1-2m EUR.
CSKA Sofia

As following the team closely, I have a better vision on the team compared to other teams in the league, which was deservingly undervalued based on the performance for the past calendar year. The team has finally showed good games and from 14th pushed to the 3rd place within 10 rounds. Here is a split between the most of the players.

Players with impact and progress:

Fedor Lapoukhov | GK | 22 | 1.2m - increase to 1.5m. Lapoukhov, at the age of 22 has a great ability to play with feet. He has a great pass. I can't remember a time when he failed to deliver a long pass to a team mate. He is the biggest prospect of Belarus and also performed on a very high level in the last two national team games, where Belarus drew with Greece and Denmark. CSKA lost only twice this season when Lapoukhov was a goalkeeper. He did great saves and is definitely someone that will be hard to stay in the Bulgarian league long term.

Lumbardh Dellova | CB | 26 | 1m - increase to 1.5m. Dellova has been very consistent and is playing a vital part in the team. He is one of the players that attracts the eyes of other teams and will be most likely transferred out soon. He performs on a great level for the national team of Kosovo, which still has the chance to qualify for the WC 26. On top of that, in the league - he has scored a goal from nearly 60 meters, which might be chosen for the goal of the season.

Teodor Ivanov | CB | 21 | 500k - increase to 600k. Teodor will be slowly overtaking Lapena's role as one of the two main central backs. In the game he played, he showed stability and did not make any major mistakes. Even though, he just arrived in the team - he already had the captaincy a couple of times.

Pastor | RB | 25 | 1m - increase to 1.2m. Pastor is also a new addition to the team, but has been adapting quite well. Already had multiple assists and has a great cross. He only needs to improve defensively (which I believe will happen as it might be just a matter of communication with the rest of the players). He has a desire for the game and is very passionate.

Bruno Jordao | DM | 27 | 400k - increase to 700k. Bruno Jordao is the X factor of the team. Since he arrived, a lot of people believe he is the main force in the center of the pitch that changed the team. He is securing the ball with ease. Has a very solid impact in every single game. Has the potential to be the best DM in the league if his form continues. He adapted since day one. At 400k he is definitely undervalued.

James Eto'o | CM | 25 | 1.2m - increase to 1.5m - Eto'o was the key factor in the last 10+ games. He improved and came back stronger after having personal issues in the beginning of the season. He has a lot of different skills like long distance shooting. All of his goals are from outside the box. Has a great cross and the ability to recover the ball.

Petko Panayotov | CM | 20 | 400k - increase to at least 700k. Panayotov shows a great potential and is the only person from the youth academy that is currently having an impact on the first team. He also had good games and scored a crucial goal for the Bulgaria U21 team, where the team won a prestigious game against the Czech Republic. Panayotov is not afraid of the big games. Already scored in early 2025 in the derby with Levski Sofia. He creates a lot of chances and provides a good dynamic in the center of the pitch. He is definitely undervalued and as long as he is healthy, he has the desire and skills to become a great player.

Leandro Godoy | CF | 24 | 1.5m - increase to 2.0m. Last season Godoy has been the top goal scorer for the league, which got him transferred to CSKA Sofia. He needed some time to adapt which was around the same time where the team had only 1 win in 9 games. (The team struggled with the new coach which was fired) He has scored 9 goals for 6 games and assisted once and was on a superb goal level. He has a very good ability to be at the right place in the exact time. With the right people behind him delivering passes and creating chances, he will be easily again the top scorer this season.

Players which are not progressing but not regressing:

Adrian Lapena - Although Lapena has been with the captaincy and is part of the majority of the games, he yet does not convince the people that he is a game changer. Rather, his price seems fair at 700k at the age of 29.
Angelo Martino - He seems like a good addition to the team, but has not contributed on a global level to the team in order to move in price. He is yet in adapting phase. Compared to the other defensive back that the team got (Pastor) - he does not show the same potential so far.
Olaus Skarsem - He is not progressing or regressing, but rather plays the minutes he is given without being remembered with something special. Sometimes he has bright pitch moments, other times he has very poor contribution. He is inconsistent but at the age of 27 - 500k is the exact fair price.
Ivan Turitsov - At the age of 26, he missed his chance to leave the club a couple of years ago and to play abroad. Since then, there is zero upgrade in Turitsov's game. The only reason he is in the club seems to be that he has a good personality which keeps the team together, but from technical football skills his price is definitely not more than 500-700k. His pros are his defensive contribution - in terms of attacking skills, he has a lot of wrong passes.
Ilian Iliev Jr - I think at the price of 800k, Iliev reaches a plateau. He is not a bad player, but he seems always under some kind of pressure when he plays. There is no room for price improvement at this point, nor for price reduction since he has been overall playing fine but nothing more.
Mohamed Brahimi - Again, as Iliev - 900k price looks around his plateau price (between 800k and 1m). He seems like a decent player, but at some points he either can't fit in the game plan, or lacks football IQ, as in one of the games he was played in the 80th minute and was subbed off after 5-10 minutes, because he looked like he was lost on the pitch. (There was no injury - the coach confirmed that he did not fulfill the requirements)

Players that regress:

Brayan Cordoba | CB | 26 | 500k - downgrade to 300k. For the past two years he has played just a couple of minutes in official games. He lacks discipline and 500k would be a lot of money at the current stage for a team to pay for Cordoba. He was late for the last winter camp which got him even in a worse place with the team. His days seem to be over in the club and from a career point of view - he does not seem to have a big ambition to prove himself so far.
David Seger | CM | 26 | 500k - downgrade to 400k. This player came with big expectations as he was a captain in his previous team. So far, he has not showed any leadership skills, nor football skills. Bearing in mind that the league standards in Bulgaria are lower than in Sweden - the expectations as contribution were much more and he disappoints so far. Looks like he has adaptation issues.
Kevin Dodaj | LW | 20 | 500k - downgrade to 400k. I think Dodaj has a great potential but he recently had injury issues and he definitely is someone that adapts slow. At this age and with the fact that CSKA does not have in practice any wingers - he should be pushing the limits much further in order to get minutes and have an impact, but that was unfortunately not the case.
