FSG – A Critical Evaluation
To compete with top teams nowadays, a team needs financial backing; they need top dollars coming from someone or somewhere other than the club itself regardless of history. Liverpool FC is a club renowned for its history, culture and tradition. We rely on it so much that we still believe that it is enough to get us to high places, however in the past 10 years Liverpool have only won 5 trophies. One of them being the amazing Champions League in 2005 but still missing that elusive Premiership title that every fan craves. On the 6th February 2007 two American, Hicks and Gillett bought Liverpool FC. For three years the fans heard promises come and go, stadiums, players, managers come and go. Fortunately that reign came to an end, with court battles included and on the 15th October 2010 NESV (New England Sports Venture) now known as FSG (Fenway Sports Group) and their owner John W. Henry bought Liverpool Football Club.

Liverpool are poised to win the race for highly rated Derby midfielder Will Hughes, with the club set to lodge a £6million bid this week.
Hughes is considered one of the best prospects in England, and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.
Nur die Metro, aber zumindest mal schön, was anderes zu lesen ausser dieses Hin und Her bei Willian ... sehe hier zumindest einen gewissen Ansatz von Beuteschema, auch wenn es mit sofortigem Impact wahrscheinlich eher weniger zu tun hat. Hughes is considered one of the best prospects in England, and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.
Edit: Ich finde es übrigens durchaus vernünftig, wenn wir nicht bei jedem Wettbieten wie die Wilden mitmachen und durchaus nach der Strategie "der Klügere gibt nach" verfahren. Und deshalb plädiere ich auch für eine sachliche Sichtweise. Keiner muss sich da irgendwie reinsteigern. Und Statements zu Ambitionen auf Platz 4 kommen durch Ergebnisse, nicht durch Wundertütenkäufe, zumal der Preis echt nicht ausser Acht bleiben darf.

Wie immer ... Ping Pong von Fakten, obwohl man bestimmt schon redet. PSG are willing to listen to offers for defender Sakho, and Liverpool have stepped up their interest this week after losing Sebastian Coates to a long standing knee problem.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, will move to sign Chelsea forward Victor Moses on a season-long loan.
Chelsea are willing to sell the Nigerian international but want a £2m fee. Rodgers is hoping to secure a deal on reduced terms as Liverpool have concerns about the forward's £55,000 a week salary.

The Liverpool manager wants to bring Mamadou Sakho to Anfield from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer deadline but the French club are reluctant to sell the 23-year-old defender. In the absence of any in-comings, out-of-favour Martin Skrtel is likely to partner Daniel Agger against the Premier League champions.

The experienced former Everton man is one of a number of defenders Rodgers is looking to sign before the transfer window shuts.
Rodgers would also like to sign Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Schalke having seen other options being ruled out.
Rodgers has lost Kolo Toure and Sebastian Coates through injuries and appears reticent to use Martin Skrtel, who was frozen out of first team action for much of the second half of the 2012/13 campaign.
